Bryan Danielson was impressed by Mina Shirakawa’s recent performances on AEW.
Shirakawa and Toni Storm will fight for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Forbidden Doors tonight. Danielson spoke with SI.com ahead of the pay-per view to discuss how he thinks the former Wonder Of Stardom champ has performed in AEW.
Danielson said, “Mina Shirakawa has done a fantastic job in terms of establishing herself as a personality on AEW TV.” “Her personality just bleeds right through the screen,” said Danielson. I’m looking forward to her match with Toni Storm at Forbidden Door.”
Shirakawa and Mariah May’s love for each other is evident in their story. Shirakawa and May used to hold the Goddesses of Stardom titles and seem to enjoy each other’s company on screen. Shirakawa accidentally hit her with a bottle of champagne on AEW Dynamics this week.
Danielson continued by saying, “I’ve said hi to Shirakawa maybe twice.” “There hasn’t really been any conversation. But I was watching Dynamite at Tony’s office last night and we both commented on how good she is. It doesn’t matter if there are cultural or linguistic barriers. “The Toni Storm-Mariah May – Mina story is so compelling.”
“It’s by design, it wasn’t a coincidence.” Mina and Mariah were friends and had a great history. I followed Stardom and they were in Club Venus. They had an over-act and a close relationship. In planning this show and putting a plot together, I was thrilled to have Mina in AEW. Especially with all of the cool things that were happening with Mariah May, ‘Timeless Toni Storm’ and their friendship.
Danielson’s match at Forbidden door will be his only concern when he faces Shingo Takagi during an Owen Hart Cup bout. He hopes to have some time to sit back and enjoy the show.
Danielson continued, “Swerve-Ospreay and Moxley-Naito will be amazing. “I still love wrestling. “I still love wrestling.
“I am really looking forward to the whole show.” I’ll find an unused spot to watch the matches in the area and soak it all in.”
