Kevin Patrick released from WWE in todays Wrestling news
Patrick was a member of the SmackDown commentating team with Corey Graves.
Kevin Patrick, the former WWE announcer, has left the company.
PWInsider reported Thursday that Kevin Egan (Patrick) had been released from his WWE deal. Dave Meltzer announced earlier this week that Patrick would be leaving his role as a SmackDown commentator.
Patrick’s replacement has not yet been announced.
Patrick was a member of the Raw commentary crew before joining SmackDown, in August 2023. Initially, SmackDown had a three-man commentary team with Patrick, Corey Graves and Michael Cole. WWE hoped that pairing Cole and Patrick would help Patrick develop as a broadcaster.
Cole called Raw and SmackDown before becoming the exclusive Raw commentator earlier this month. In recent weeks, SmackDown had a two-man commentating team consisting of Patrick and Graves.
Patrick, originally from Ireland, began working for WWE in March 2021. He was a backstage reporter, play-byplay commentator and Raw Talk host. He was a soccer commentator both before and after his time with WWE.
Patrick co-hosted WWE After the Bell for a time with Graves. This podcast stopped producing new episodes in November last year.
