Lio Rush has admitted that he is in pain after the TNT title match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
Beyond Wrestling announced that Rush would not be able compete at the promotion’s July 4 event in Worcester MA due to injuries sustained on last night’s pay-per view.
Rush posted a quick update on his social media shortly after the announcement.
“I don’t suffer, but I am in a lot of pain.” What a night. What a match. I’ll be returning for more. “Thanks to everyone for joining me on this journey into the #ForbiddenDoor,” wrote he.
Later, he added: “I’m good guys. After a couple of ice baths, I’ll be straight. “I appreciate your concern.”
Rush returned to AEW after being away since late-2021 in May. He won the Forbidden Doors Casino Gauntlet Match on the Dynamite May 29th match in his return and has been involved with a developing story since. Rush defeated Andretti at the June 19 Rampage tape to qualify for the TNT Title ladder match at Forbidden Doors.
