Forbidden Door now includes two new matches.
Hiroshi Takanahashi will be teaming up with The Acclaimed (The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada) to take on The Elite. Billy Gunn, after The Elite challenged The Acclaimed in a trios match said that he would like to team up The Acclaimed but he knew a president. Tanahashi then appeared on the screen and announced that he would team up with Max Caster & Anthony Bowens on Sunday.
This will be the first time Okada has faced Tanahashi since Okada left NJPW earlier in the year.
Willow Nightingale, Tam Nakano and Momo Watanabe will team up to take on Kris Statlander on Sunday. Statlander challenged Nightingale in a video to a warm-up match before their Owen Hart Foundation Tournament bout on Dynamite next Wednesday. The match was confirmed later for Forbidden Door Zero Hour pre-show.
Bryan Keith was also injured and will not be competing at Forbidden Doors. This news was announced on Dynamite. Jericho tried to recruit Minoru Suzuki to be part of his trios, but Suzuki refused the offer and challenged Jericho for a FTW title bout. On social media, it was revealed that the trios title match between The Learning Tree, Hook, Katsuyori Schibata, Samoa Joe, and Forbidden door is still going on but Jericho must find a new partner.
