Tony Khan voted me the best women's wrestling wrestler ever in todays Wrestling news

Mercedes Mone, who works for Tony Khan at AEW, is happy to be in her new home.

During a recent New York City media tour, Mone visited Hot 97 Radio. She spoke about her decision to leave WWE in 2022. Mone said that there were “so” many reasons why she left WWE, but the most important was listening to her soul.

She said, “Something felt off that day.” “How we were spoken to didn’t settle my heart.” And I knew instantly that if I didn’t take control of my own life, I would never be happy with someone talking to me in the way they do, or feeling like I didn’t belong.

Mone had to think about the impact her decision would have on not only herself, but also her family. She didn’t have a clue what she would do next or whether she could fit back into the wrestling world. Mone is grateful for her new life in AEW. Mone admits that leaving WWE was a tough decision, but now she feels better than she has ever felt.

“It’s not just about me, but also my family.” I support my brother financially who has special needs. I financially support my mom. For two years I didn’t have a’stable income’, but I still made money because of the other opportunities that came my way. Mone said, “I was really unsure of what would happen next and whether I could fit back into the wrestling world.”

“I’m so grateful for a company such as AEW, and for a boss and leader who is so beautiful and kind like Tony Khan. They saw me for who I am. And he saw that I was the best, the greatest women’s wrestler in history. He tried for years to get me [to AEW] and to get my down. He finally got me. The numbers, the conversation, the alignment, and the goals all aligned. The most important thing is that. I wanted to know what his goals were for AEW, and women’s wrestling within AEW. I wanted him to understand how much I care about women’s wrestling in AEW and how much I want it to grow. The alignment was perfect. “And now we are making magic.”

Mone made her debut with AEW in March. Khan told Sports Illustrated that Mone was “one the greatest free agents in pro wrestling history,” and “one the most significant signings in AEW’s history.”

Mone won the AEW Strong Women’s Championship and the NJPW TBS Championship at Forbidden Doors last weekend. Britt Baker confronted Mone after the match.

Mone will celebrate his championship on AEW Dynamite next Wednesday. Baker will also appear in the episode.
