AJ Francis spoke about the memorable spot & its impact on health.

Top Dolla claims that his “Flop Dolla’ dive on SmackDown, last year, led to a revelation which saved his life.
AJ Francis, formerly Top Dolla, in WWE, responded on social media to a post on X commemorating the botched spot at the one-year anniversary and said that he discovered that he was suffering from Type 2.

Francis wrote:

The botch saved me. I’d done that dive a dozen other times, but didn’t pay attention to it. My legs felt strange. I went to see the doctor after I failed and found out that I had Type II Diabetes & my blood glucose was 626. I was on the verge of losing both my feet and almost lost my life. The botch saved me.

Francis continued to discuss health in subsequent replies, noting that at this time he does not need insulin injections and speaking on the importance of proper medications:

I am thankfully not insulin dependent and hope to never be, but this could change at any time.

The blood sugar was tested about a month after the incident when I could not gain weight. I had my blood drawn to get TRT approved. Knowing how I track my sugar now, I’m sure it was between 250 and 300 the night before the incident.

Proper medication changes EVERYTHING

Yes, I take Metformin Glyburide & Gemfibrozil with meals twice a day.

I’m properly medicated. I’m 330 lbs and I look better than I ever have.

Francis is an ex-NFL defensive lineman. He originally signed with WWE back in 2020. He made his WWE debut in the ring on the NXT label in May 2021, as a member of the Hit Row stable. Hit Row was promoted to the SmackDown Brand in October 2021. Francis, Ashante “Thee Adonis”, Isaiah “Swerve Scott” and B-Fab, however, were released from the company in November.

Francis, Adonis and B-Fab re-signed with the company in August 2022, and returned under the SmackDown name as Hit Row. Francis was released again by the company in 2023. Adonis & B-Fab are still signed to WWE while Swerve joined AEW in the form of Swerve Strickland.

Francis has announced he will begin accepting independent bookings on January 1, 2024. He has also announced his appearance in GCW’s Look At Me on January 26th, 2024.
