WCW fans will recognize a familiar event name that may reappear in WWE or NXT in the future.

WWE trademarked SuperBrawl on Tuesday, the long-running WCW Pay-per-View for which it previously owned the rights. They relinquished them intermittently over the past two decades, since they acquired the former rival.

Cody Rhodes registered the trademark in 2019, but abandoned it in 2020.

SuperBrawl began in 1991, and lasted 11 years until its conclusion in 2001. SuperBrawl Revenge was the company’s second-to-last PPV before it was purchased by WWE in that year.

WWE has used WCW-related brands like Starrcade in the past for special one-off events, in addition to Halloween Havoc.

WWE has also registered a trademark for the name Tyra Mae Steele. This is the new in-ring nickname of Tamyra Mehsah-Stock. She will be making her televised debut in the ring this Friday, on NXT level Up. She made her in ring debut on an NXT House Show this past March.
