WWE NXT premiere date announced on The CW in todays Wrestling news

WWE NXT has officially set a date for its arrival on The CW Network.

The CW announced its fall premiere schedule on Monday, confirming NXT’s debut on the channel will be on October 1. NXT will continue to air on Tuesdays from 8-10 pm Eastern/Pacific.

WWE announced last year that it had signed a five-year agreement to bring NXT on The CW beginning in October 2024. Since 2019, USA Network has been the show’s TV home. NXT’s run on USA will continue over the next few weeks before it moves to The CW.

The CW acquired the rights to NXT as part of its strategy to enhance its sports portfolio and add live programming. In an interview with Variety, CW President Dennis Miller explained in detail why he thought NXT would be a good fit for the network.

Miller said, “We knew Raw and SmackDown would be a bit out of our budget.” “Then if we look at a lot sports, we’ve got that next tier moving up into the first tier, whether it’s Xfinity racing leading into the Cup or NXT leading to Raw and SmackDown. It just seemed to fit. We went back and forward over a few months and finally got the deal done.”

SmackDown & Raw will also be moving networks as part of their next TV deal. SmackDown is moving from Fox to USA Network in September. Raw will move from USA Network to Netflix in 2025.
